My name is Mariya Kircheva (MK).
I am a professional and experienced
music, harp, piano and music theory tutor.
I am a keen musician and I have been
playing music from the age of five.
I started teaching music at the age of 18,
when I graduated The National School of Music
and Dance Art in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
I have found that teaching is something that
I am not just passionate about,
but it is one of the most important area in my life.
I made a decision to improve my skills and
qualifications more and more each academic year.
I am currently having students for Level harp,
Pedal harp, Piano, and Music Theory.
I graduated Academy of Music, Dance and
Visual Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with BA in major
Pedagogy in music teaching in 2013.
RQF Level 6 /SCQF Level 10 / CQFW Level 6
I have been awarded with Qualified Teacher Status from the Department for Education in the UK I am a member of the Music Union in the UK
I have experience in teaching music in Primary Schools and preparing an outstanding Christmas and Easter performers.
I worked as a Principal Harpist in State Opera and Symphony Orchestra in Plovdiv,Bulgaria by the period of three years (2015-2018)
In 2018 I became the first voluntary harpist on SS Great Britain Ship in Bristol, UK, where I really enjoyed to perform every weekend before the Pandemic had started.
I specialise in classical music and I also have a good knowledge of a range of musical styles.
I love to learn as much as I love to teach, and hope to pass this enthusiasm on to my own students.
In 2020 I successfully completed the Level 3 Award in Special Educational Needs and I have three years of experience working
with SEN children in Primary School in Bristol,UK
I passed a Music Therapy Course in 2023,where I studied
about the different mental health and behavioural issues that
music therapy can be used to treat and the advantages
of using this therapy for treatment.
I have an Enhanced DBS check.
In addition to a general enthusiasm for music and good
teaching skills, I also have a good communication abilities,
self-motivation and organization and a patient and
encouraging approach.
My goal as a teacher is not just to teach the children how
to play the particular instrument or/and music theory,
but also they to become a better and more organized people.
